This Sunday!

I am so looking forward to this Sunday!  It is our privilege to have with us two people many of you know very well:  Charles and Beverly Kohl.  Charles came to Christ as a high school student through the ministries of Arcade Church, went to college, met Beverly (Minnesota girl) and headed for the mission field where they have faithfully served for 35 years.  Over 30 of those years have been spent in Jordan.

As Charles opens God’s Word to us (Revelation 5) please pray for a Gospel harvest in Jordan as well as the rest of the Middle East.  Remember, also, that we always have a Question & Response time after the second service.  Charles is making himself available for that time and will be able to shed light on the conditions of the Middle East as well as their ministry.

Hope to see you there.

Elders and Pastors

“Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”-yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.”

                                        ~James 4:13-15

In 2011, the Elders and Pastors got together for an extended period of time and attempted to respond to this question: “If Jesus doesn’t come back by 2016, what do we believe Arcade Church should look like?”  After many days and weeks of wrestling, debating, praying and ultimately agreeing we came up with the Summit Goals you see posted all over our campus (you can find them here).

We are well on to our way to 2016 and are extremely grateful for the fruit that God has produced through this planning. But annually we get together to seek God’s will and determine if the direction we took two and half years is the direction in which God wants us to continue. As you know there is a fine line between trusting God and presuming upon him.  We do not want to fall into the trap of presumption and so Sunday the Elders and Pastors will gather together for the entire afternoon to seek God, discuss, assess and hopefully determine if the direction we have taken is due to God’s guidance.

Will you please pray for us?

Craig
